Maeil Food Co., Ltd. Donates Development Fund to Sunchon National University Oh Sang-ho, CEO of Maeil Food Co., Ltd., donated KRW 20 million on the 11th to Sunchon National University (President Lee Byung-woon) to support the success of the Glocal University 30 initiative and the establishment of a new medical school. The donation ceremony, held at the president’s office of the university, was attended by CEO Oh Sang-ho, President Lee Byung-woon, and Vice President for External Affairs Moon Seung-tae, among others. Maeil Food Co., Ltd. traces its roots back to the Kim Bang Soy Sauce Brewery, established in Jangcheon-dong, Suncheon in 1945, and has grown into a prestigious long-standing company with a proud history spanning 79 years.
Since CEO Oh Sang-ho took office in 2013, the company has established itself as
a promising export-oriented SME based on its philosophy of contributing to healthy families and a better society.
Starting with the “USD 1 Million Export Tower,” it went on to achieve the “USD 10 Million Export Tower” award in 2021.
At the ceremony, CEO Oh Sang-ho stated, “A company can grow only when the local community develops alongside it,” adding, “I hope Sunchon National University will discover global talent through the Glocal University 30 initiative and become a member of a community that grows together with the region.” President Lee Byung-woon responded, “I sincerely thank CEO Oh Sang-ho,” and added, “Through the Glocal University 30 initiative, we will nurture global talent and, based on mutual growth with the region, achieve our goal of establishing a medical school.”

매일식품㈜, 순천대 발전기금 기탁 오상호 매일식품㈜ 대표가 11일 국립순천대학교(총장 이병운)의 글로컬대학30 성공과 의과대학 신설을 위해 대학발전기금 2000만 원을 기탁했다.
이날 순천대 총장실에서 열린 기탁식에는
오상호 대표와 이병운 총장, 문승태 대외협력부총장 등이 참석했다. 매일식품은 1945년 순천시 장천동에 설립된 김방 장유양조장을 모태로
79년의 역사를 자랑하는 명문 장수기업으로성장해 왔다.
2013년 오상호 대표가 취임한 이후 건강한 가정과 아름다운 사회에 기여하는 기업이라는 이념을 바탕으로 수출 유망 중소기업으로 자리매김했으며, 100만불 수출의 탑을 시작으로 2021년에는 1천만불 수출의 탑을수상하는 성과를 이뤘다.
기탁식에서 오상호 대표는 "지역사회가 발전해야 기업도 함께 성장할 수 있다"며
 "국립순천대학교가 글로컬대학30을 통해 글로벌 인재를 발굴하고, 지역과 함께 성장하는 공동체의 일원이 되기를 바란다"고 말했다. 이병운 총장은 "오상호 대표님께 깊은 감사를 드린다"며 "글로컬대학30을 통해 글로벌 인재를 양성하고, 지역과의상생을 바탕으로 의과대학 유치라는 목표를 반드시 이루겠다"고 화답했다.

The Gwangju and Jeonnam Regional Office of the Ministry of SMEs and Startups announced on the 19th that it visited Maeil Food Co., Ltd.,

which was selected for the “2024 Global Hidden Champion 1000+ Project,” and held a certificate and plaque award ceremony on-site.

 

Maeil Food Co., Ltd. currently sells fermented sauces and seasonings in over 1,000 stores across more than 20 countries,

including the United States and the United Kingdom. Founded in 1945, the company was also certified as a

“Long-standing Hidden Champion SME” by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups in 2017.

㈜매일식품은 장류, 조미료류 등을 미국, 영국 등 20여 개국 1천여개 매장에 판매 중이며,

1945년도에 설립돼 지난 2017년에는 중소기업벤처부가 선정한 명문장수기업으로 인증된 기업이다.
